The eclipse of the Moon

Every year a specific phenomenon takes place that is called the eclipse of the Moon. So what is it? And why does it take place?

The eclipse of both the Moon and the Sun is the eclipse of one space object by another. The eclipse of the sun happens when the Moon covers up the sun light with the help of projection of its disk. The eclipse of the Moon is the phenomenon when the Moon dives into the cone of the sun decreasing the brightness of the Moon disk.

In dependence on the part of cone in which the Moon dives scientists divide the eclipse of the Moon into the partial and the full eclipse of the Moon. It is possible to watch this process from any point of Earth. The eclipse of the Moon usually lasts several hours. And the Moon eclipse takes place only during the full Moon. If the Moon was moving in the same plane as our planet, the eclipse of the Moon would take place every full Moon.
